The Sicilian cart (in Sicilian carrettu ) is a horse-drawn vehicle used for transporting goods, in use throughout the territory Sicilian from the 19th century until the second half of the 20th century , when it became obsolete due to the increasing motorization of work in the countryside. Built with different types of wood, often decorated with bucolic carvings and bright pictorial decorations, today it has become an object of artisanal art, as well as one of the symbols of Sicilian folkloristic iconography.
